Tread Evaluation

Measured to assess condition and support grade classification.

Bead & Rim Area Check

Inspected for bead damage, exposed wire, or mounting issues.

Inner Liner Review

Evaluated for damage, repairs, or conditions affecting retreadability.

Step - 05

Size, Brand & DOT Verification

Size, brand, and DOT/date code reviewed when available.

Step - 06

Final Sorting & Grading

Casings are sorted by grade, size, and condition before shipment.

Understanding Our Grade Tiers

Condition Grade

DOT / Age Standards

Tier

A Grade

Virgin casings only, typically 5 years old and newer, in clean overall condition with strong retread potential. Nail hole repairs are permitted depending on the retreader's requirements.

Typically available in Tier 1 and selected Tier 2 brands.

B Grade

Commercially usable casings with more flexible retread criteria. DOT within approximately 7 years old, up to one retread permitted, and minor sidewall imperfections acceptable depending on retreaders' requirements.

Available in Tier 1, Tier 2, and selected Tier 3 brands depending on retreaders' programs.

C Grade

Value-tier commercial casings and secondary market opportunities depending on application, retreader requirements, and available inventory.

Typically associated with Tier 3 and lower-market commercial brands.

R1 Grade

Previously retreaded casings were accepted only under specific retreaders' programs.

R1 casings are primarily available in Tier 1 and selected Tier 2 brands, depending on condition, retread history, and retreaders' requirements.
